Is the microsoft zune for nerds and gamers?

I always see the zune either only in ebgames and gamespot or in the hands of people who play much games...the geeks? Is there something about the zune appealing to them? is it because it is hackable? made my microsoft? I personally like the ipod and i dont hate nerds...i was just wondering why microsoft is discriminatory.

Not necessarily. I've seen the Zune stocked by Costco and Wal-Mart as well as Gamestop. It may just be that people are looking for them at other retailers and don't realize that the game stores also carry them, so the game stores still have them when other retailers are sold out.

Here is the deal with zune. You can wirelessly share video and music and yes you can easily hack it. When sending a bought music file, rename the ending from .mp3 to anything like .xxx before you send it. Then the new owner can just change it back.

IPOD tends to be the most expensive MP3 player out there and supposably has a horrid copy protection scheme.

Then there is the first MP3 player, RIO that had to do all the legal work, but got none of the credit.

Apple 30GB Ipod video $298.95 Amazon is kind of loopy in the per play per charge. technical lists it at 14hours, descrption lists it at 20 hours.

Zune 30GB $229.95 no listing on Amazon of how it can play per charge.

Rio Carbon 5 GB(which is listed as 80 hours worth of MP3 files or 120 hours worth of WMA files by Amazon) about $160.86. 20 hours per charge, smaller than an Ipod mini

The nerds have it becuase it is cool and different. They always have to be up to date with their electronics. Me and my friend have zunes but we are not nerds.
